The International Gemological Symposium and the GIA Gemological Research Conference will be held in the Manchester Grand Hyatt, one of the largest convention hotels in Southern California.  Since hosting GIA's last Symposium in 1999, this hotel has been significantly enlarged and remodeled.  It now has 1,625 guest rooms and 125,000 square feet of meeting/banquet space, and is located on the San Diego waterfront - just a short distance from the airport, as well as Sea World and other attractions.
